PHYS.ED.Overview for Term 3 2016

Foundation Band(Rs)-students will develop and practice Fundamental movement skills through active play and structured movement activities.
Focus areas
1.Completing and assessing achievement in throwing underarm.
2.Kicking a large ball with the dominant foot.
3.Kicking a large ball for accuracy.
4.Start striking
Years 1&2 Band-students will build on the previous learning of the FMS and further develop them through active play and minor games.
Focus areas
1. Complete the FMS of throwing over arm for accuracy and distance,stressing the correct technique
2. Bush Dancing
Years 3&4 band-students will build on previous learning in movement to help develop greater proficiency across the range of FMS through modified sports.
1.Complete and assess the modified sport of Newcombe Ball.
2.Learn about and play modified Australian Rules football.One year 3/4 class will be doing Basketball with the North Adelaide Rockets.
3.Playing fairly and show good sportsmanship.
Years 4/5 & 5 classes- because of the class structures these classes will be doing some work in the 5/6 band with some compromises-students will refine and develop a wide range of FMS in more complex movement patterns.
1.Complete and assess the sport of Sofcrosse
2.Learn about & play the sport of Basketball with the North Adelaide Rockets.
3.Stressing playing fairly and showing good sportsmanship.
-the year 4/5 class activities will be adjusted to suit their development.
Year 5/6 band- students refine and further develop a wide range of FMS in more complex movement patterns & situations.
1.Complete & assess the major sport of Badminton.
2.Participate in learning  about Basketball with the North Adelaide Rockets.
3.Stressing playing fairly and showing good sportsmanship and acceptable participation.

Skillantics is continuing in small groups,for years 2&3 and years 4&5 for students who need extra assistance in the curriculum.
