Phys.Ed.Overview.Term2 2016.

  Foundation Band(reception year) - students will develop and practice Fundamental Movement Skills through active play and structured movement activities.
The focus areas this term will be 
1.Throwing underarm a large ball with two hands accurately
2.Throwing underarm different objects with one hand accurately
3.Catching
Years 1 & 2 Band- students will build on the the learning of the Foundation Band and further develop their Fundamental Movement Skills through active play and minor games.
The focus areas this term will be
1.Complete the FMS of ball control
2.Throwing underarm 
3.Throwing over arm for accuracy and distance
4.Start the skills of kicking
Years 3 & 4 Band -students will build on previous learning in movement to help develop greater proficiency across the range of FMS through modified sport
The focus areas this term will be
1.Comlete the modified sport of Floor Hockey
2.Learn about and play the modified sport of Newcombe Ball
3.Playing fairly and showing good team skills
Years 4/5 & year 5 classes are for convenience are working in the year 5 & 6 band - students refine and further develop a wide range of FMS in more complex movement patterns.
The focus areas this term will be
1.Comlete and assess modified volleyball
2.Learn about  and play the sport of Sofcrosse- a modified version of Lacrosse
3.Playing fairly and showing good sportsmanship
the year 4/5 class activities will be modified to suit their skills
Years 5 & 6 Band- two classes
1.Finish the sport of Volleyball and confidently demonstrate the skills
2.Learn and play the sport of Badminton 
3.Playing fairly and showing good sportsmanship

Throughout this term our warm ups will be FITNESS orientated activities
